Glorious Food and FUNDS!

School Website Updates

We just cannot believe school starts one week from today!  And with school right around the corner we know that you are anxious for all the info you can get.  Here are a few updates that you might be interested in.

  • The Camden Station Website, as you may have noticed, has not been updated in a while.  They are working very hard to get this fixed for you!  Updates will be coming soon, though we don’t have an exact date yet.  Until then you can get all the latest school info here at the PTA website.
  • We have added a few new items to the calendar.  These are the dining fund raisers held throughout the year.  This year we are thrilled to have partnered with Domino’s, Red Pepper and Chick-fil-A!  So set those dates on your calendar and treat your family to an evening that will both benefit the school and fill your tummy’s with yummy goodness!
  • We would like to draw your attention to the flashy little Amazon graphic to the right of your screen.  Go ahead… click on it.  If you shop Amazon, please visit here first and click through to their site from here.  Because if you do… THEY PAY US!  That’s what I call easy fundraising.
  • Ready to have your child get into shape for a spring sport, or learn a valuable fitness skill, or just get them moving something other than the TV remote?  Then sign them up for Cross Country!  Its the best sport there is, says the completely unbiased mother of three Cross Country runners. ☺
  • We will be taking PTA membership and Direcotry forms at the open house.  Save time and print them out and have them ready to go! Click here.
  • Open house is this Monday from 6:00 pm until 7:30.   Its a great time to come meet your child’s teacher and drop off your child’s school supplies so you don’t have to lug it all in on the first day of school!

What is an RSS feed? An RSS feed allows you to receive updates from your favorite websites without ever leaving the comfort of your email client (i.e. Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook…).  Simply look for the RSS Reader tab and add this link  as a news feed:

And you will get up to the minute updates as soon as they are live on the website!

Cross Country Time

Its time to start gearing up for the hot fall sports season.  And in Oldham County nothing is hotter than Cross Country.  Here is a note from our great Camden CC Coaches about this upcoming season.  And remember… pass it on!

Hi, I hope everyone is having a great summer. I am assuming that everyone is running on their own.  If you have not, it is time to get started.  It takes several weeks to get adjusted to running in the heat.  This year we are looking at practice on Monday, Tuesdayand Thursdays after school.  Most likely starting on Aug 12th but thats not in concrete yet.  If you know anyone whom wants to run please forward this on to them.

Looking forward to the season, we are planning around 10-12 meets.  Some are still pending on their dates at this point. The  tentative schedule is:

Sept. 2 – Camden Meet and Greet
Sept. 8th – Chance
Sept. 11th – Rumble in the Jungle
Sept. 17th – Trinity Invitational
Sept. 30th – South State Tune-up
Oct 2nd – Capital View in Frankfort
Oct 16th – Dragon State tune-up
Oct 23rd – DeSales Invitational
Oct 30th – State Meet
Nov 11 – tentative date for awards night

Still waiting for the dates for Hite and Kenwood meets but this gets you started for planning your season with us this year.  As always, any parent or parents are welcome to come run and help at any practice.  If there are any photographers, we will need help with pictures throughout the year.  Also, if there is anyone willing to be a team parent and help with a snack schedule will be greatly appreciated.

So, please start running if you have not yet.  We are no longer meeting at the park for the 10:15a.m. runs.  We will send out registration forms within the next week or so.   If you have any question email the coaches here.

Thanks, Coaches Rick and Kaye.
