Thank you for a great start to this new school year!  Here are a few things to take note of for this month.

• Walk-a-thon forms are due in to school tomorrow – September 2, 2010.

• We have a new poll question for the month check it out in the side bar.

• 5th grade baby pictures are due into the year book.  Please upload them though the yearbook page or send them to school in a marked envelope with your child’s name and their teacher’s name.  (Photos will be returned to you.)

• The 5th grade committee is looking for volunteers to help with events.  Please contact our 5th grade committee chair and let her know how you can help!

Mr. Martin would love to have us all participate in this opportunity, so we are passing this email along to everyone!

In its August 16th edition, the Courier-Journal is going to have a special feature – Teachers who reached us – honoring teachers. Sarah Cunningham asked if I would let all of you know that any student, parent or administrator can nominate an outstanding teacher (current teacher or retired teacher) by completing a short form on their web site. You can go to www.courier-journal.com to enter the nomination.

Sarah would really like to get this information out to students so if you know of a student (or parent) who has expressed special appreciation of a teacher you might want to contact that person and let them know about this opportunity. Sarah indicated that they have many nominations from several other counties, but very few (if any) from Oldham and she wants to have the chance to honor and recognize Oldham County teachers.
